Articles 42 and 43 of the GDPR, which deal with the introduction of data protection-specific accreditation and certification procedures, laid the decisive foundation for the creation of CertNex GmbH. ‘Certification next’ is the name of the newly founded CertNex GmbH. Founded in 2020, the Ludwigsburg-based company is a certification body in the field of data protection for eMobility.

The conformity assessment programme, according to which interested companies are to be certified by the certification body, is currently undergoing the accreditation process by the German Accreditation Body (DakkS). An important question here is certainly what advantages does such certification offer companies? It is common knowledge that trust, security and transparency are sometimes the decisive characteristics that companies should guarantee for their own success, but also that of their customers, especially in the age of digitalisation. In future, the CertNex certificate will offer one way of proving these quality features and GDPR compliance.

In future, CertNex GmbH certification will provide proof of the conformity of data processing operations of small and medium-sized companies in the automotive supplier sector in view of the requirements of the GDPR. Initially, the company's own certification and conformity assessment programmes will be used, as well as those of other companies at a later date, in order to design an effective and individual application for interested companies. With the help of CertNex GmbH's data protection management system, CertNex GmbH offers its customers a comprehensive solution for implementing the data protection requirements of the GDPR. The company also has interdisciplinary experts and evaluators with the appropriate skills and knowledge in the areas of data protection law and technology. The experts are working on the development, further development and implementation of a corresponding catalogue of criteria, which translates the legal requirements into suitable and verifiable certification criteria and contains further explanations, implementation instructions and evidence. The catalogue of criteria thus forms the basis for certification alongside the conformity assessment programme. This puts CertNex GmbH in the unique position of being able to support you as a practical, trustworthy and independent auditor.

For companies, however, this not only means an increase in customer friendliness and efficiency, but also a high potential for innovation.

But who can be certified? Any private-sector company that supplies automotive manufacturers with products and services on the market can be certified under the CertNex programme. Automotive suppliers can be both B2B and B2C providers. The subject of the certification procedure is the processing of personal data carried out by automotive suppliers in the field of eMobility as part of their activities. As part of the conformity assessment, CertNex GmbH uses the conformity assessment programme to check whether and to what extent your company actually implements the GDPR, which has been in force since May 2018. They analyse the company's current data protection status and compare it with the legal requirements. CertNex GmbH's aim is to ensure that its customers' work complies with data protection law and to certify them throughout Europe in the field of eMobility. Such certification enables the company to achieve greater acceptance of its products or services and can therefore also facilitate market access.

The audit procedure is based on clearly defined process actions to ensure transparency and is always carried out by selected experts. The auditor is guided through the process based on defined criteria and the defined audit scope. Due to the international comparability and recognition of the applied audit measures, inspections and certification, customer confidence in the certified company is strengthened. This enables the company to stand out from the crowd and the competition. However, the company not only benefits from certification on the market compared to its competitors, but can also avoid further costs due to multiple assessments.
